Shetland Arts Development Agency

Completed in October 2012 this ambitous permanent installation is the product of all the work carried out in Mirrie Dancers project. This light work occupies both the external and internal spaces of the building transforming the relationship of the building to its context and revealing moments of light, colour and lace. The work uses eighty six specialy fabricated projection systems and nearly 300m of hand made linear light to maximise the quality and clarity of the illumination and remain intact in this very demanding maritime environment. The seventeen lace projection instruments have been developed for each lace piece.
